Excellent (and i despise Gere....)

It seems some dont know who H.Hughes was. Jeeze i am old, i remember this on tv & the newspapers! This is truly a great great film. Gere is truly excellent as is all the actors in this movie. Molina (his co actor) is absolutely priceless-- watch the 'prune story' in the movie :). This is again hollywood at its best, great story based on a compelling time in history. We were rivetted to this. It is funny, it is hide behind your couch at the going to be caught moments...get it you wont regret it.

Don't tell lies!

Gere plays a washed up author who tells his publishers that he is now penning the autobiography of the world's most famous reclusive Billionaire - Howard Hughes. Clearly its a hoax but one lie follows the next and you can't help but get swept long awaiting the climax when the house of cards falls down. Gere plays it to his strengths and creates a character that, although being highly dishonest to himself and all around him, you do care for. Recommended.

brilliant

This film was a really positive surprise. There's some excellent acting here, especially from Richard Gere. Don't forget to keep an eye on Alfred Molina as well, he delivers a great performance as usual. The plot was taut, there were no dull moments and it kept you on your toes to the end. Great story, great acting, great entertainment all around. Thumbs up!
Worth a look

This is one of the little gems that come along every now and then - didn't have a lot of publicity when it came out and unlikely many would have seen it when it was released, but tells an interesting (and allegedly!) true story that shows how gullible the press can be and how so many of us want our 15 minutes of fame!
It's good because its true

I enjoyed this film because it was a true story and I like Richard Gere. I never heard of the guy, Howard Hughes, that the book is supposed to be about and after watching this film I was interested to learn about this man and could understand why the book could become so popular.
