Matthew Mc Conaughey preformes well in a role he has done before. He carries the film well in places where the plot drags, but overall the plot and the pace is good
Marisa Tomai was excelent as was Ryan Phillippe who surprises as an excelent villan
Overall it is well worth a look if you enjoy courtroom dramas

A male friend raved about this movie, and I can see, from a guy's perspective what he might find enthralling and no... not the babes....
Good story line, but did I find it riviting - eh, no.
But it's a good compromise if he refuses point blank to what a rom com.
Feel it doesn't live up to the hype of the book

With so many excellent court room dramas on the tv now these sort of films need something extra to stand out and unfortunately this doesn't deliver. it is certainly an interesting story but it simply never gets going and simply ends in a whimper.

I enjoyed the plot and the dilemma posed to a defending lawyer and particularly enjoyed Marisa Tomei's performance, a departure from her ditsy characters , a more serious role for her.

Best movie I've rented in a while! Def worth a watch! Not a big Matthew McConaughey fan - but he gives a great performance here
