Fun for the under 12s

I know it's about giant robots from space and therefore requires I leave my brain outside but I didn't think I'd have to send my brain on a three week cruise. The plot holes are bigger than the port tunnel. The cheerleading for the US military is even more over the top than expected. Some of the characters seem to have been added just to tick all the demographic boxes. Apart from the big two I couldn't tell the transformers apart once they transformed. Naturally the dialogue was dreadful. Avoid.

Having seen the film, reading the hype and trying not to get too carried away with optimism that comes wtih this style of films, I can actually say... it was pretty good. I don't like these childhood memory remakes as I find them lacking and borrowing on sentiment to sell them rather than substance. Transformers was for me a breath of fresh air. It was a little dragged out in places. The action and fight scenes between the robots was fanastic and realistic and the lead actor chosen was and is by

Lotsa noise but lacks soul

Enter Michael Bay to give us the big screen, live action, all american version of the classic cartoon, but is it any good? For me the action was way too kinetic - you could not make out an Autobot from a Deceptecon. Starscream had the wrong voice and was underused while Megatron, well, wasn't he a great big gun?! The Autobots remain mostly anonymous too even though they get more screen time. LeBeouf is very good and delivers some good lines but the bots shoud be the movie and they just aren't.

Awwwwhhhh - disappointing

Story is all over the place both geographically and literally with large gaps in the tie-ins. Special effects are great but so fast they almost blur into 'what just happened' and 'which robot is that'. I was confused and disappointed as i missed it in the movies and was playing catch up.
Acting is funny with main character very witty and his parents the same [funniesat part is during the credits at the end - make sure u watch]. Worth renting but it's just not what i hoped it's be.

Definately not a family movie!!!

Rated 12 but should be at least 18. Not exactly too much to be seen but the fact that this movie is for 12year olds and over, having a teenage boy lusting after a half naked teenage girl, who is dressed and tarted up to look like a porn star is not what any parent should have to expect to see in a 12 rated movie. As for the storyline, very weak with a few inappropriate scenes, such as a transformer urinating on another transformer. Very thoughtless and unneccesary. Not worth it!!!
