0.5 out of 10 Twilight
Ciarán from Dublin, 07 Jul 2011
I am not the kind of person who judges a film without seeing it, so I did sit through the full movie. I now wish I hadn't. It's a very lazily written story, clearly thrown together by someone who wants to possess some sort of depth, but fails to do so. The acting, for the most part, is awful (mainly Kristin Stewart), but the main fault lies with the characters themselves. Edward and Bella are extremely two dimensional and badly written overall. I liked some of the music chosen for this film, but that's where the positive traits end.

3.5 out of 10 Twilight
Timmy from Cork, 17 Jul 2010
For me, apart from Kristin and Robert, everyone is perfect for their respective parts! The main two however take a while to become the part! Some of their scenes looks awkward and I thought took from the overall feeling! The movie itself isn't very fast paced but for the first in a 4/5 part series it was just an opener. It did, however, have enough action to keep me entertained, no easy feat! It is a dark film which adds to the sense of unknown that is constantly present!

3 out of 10 Entertaining teenage angst
Cliona from Cork, 11 Jan 2011
Vampires and repressed sexual desire - what's not to love?! For those who aren't angst-ridden teenagers it's incredibly cheesy and absurd, but also pretty entertaining. Kristen Stewart is believable, quite a feat given the plot, and Robert Pattinson's bone structure really is something to behold. Plus I don't think I've ever seen anything quite as surreal as the scene of the "good vampire family" playing baseball.

2.5 out of 10 Looks good but not quite all there
John from Dublin, 21 Jan 2011
Stylish (in its own annoying way) "vampire" movie for teeny boppers. Clearly suffering from some loss in translation from the books (which I haven't read) . The story is a bit weak for a 2 hour movie and the flow is a bit implausible. e.g. relationships being built a bit too fast. Still if you don't expect something too serious can still be enjoyed as most of the players are reasonably charismatic.

3 out of 10 Not much Bite.
John from Donegal, 18 Dec 2009
Teen angst & Vampires. After all the hype, I gave in and rented this film, of course it couldn't live up to expectations and the two main stars, Stewart & Pattinson are not very good. But on saying that, it was watchable, and I'll probably rent the next one too.

What's it about....
Bella Swan's move to Forks, a small, perpetually rainy town in Washington, could have been the most boring move she ever made. But once she meets the mysterious and alluring Edward Cullen, Bella's life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. Up until now, Edward has managed to keep his vampire identity a secret in the small community he lives in, but now nobody is safe, especially Bella, the person Edward holds most dear.
