2 out of 10 Boring!
Dean & Steffi from Meath, 04 Dec 2007
If you have National Geographic then to be honest, what you'll see there is just as good. The only difference is it doesn't have Morgan Freeman narrating! I found this a tad boring I have to say, especially as I'v seen many a david Attenborough Documentary which would'v shown a more gritty and even harsher side to life in the Antarctic. This film seems to be a glossy, toned down, non-gorey detail of their survival. But if it helps create awareness of nature, then I can't complain.

4 out of 10 Good
Teresa from Donegal, 20 Dec 2007
This was good, but no better than the many excellent BBC nature programmes. Was amused to see so much in common with Happy Feet (including the same bird of prey). Don't really see why there was so much fuss about this movie, other than the difficult conditions the cameramen had to work under (but, again, BBC have been doing it for decades).

2.5 out of 10 March Of The Penguins
Ben from Cork, 26 Jan 2008
Fabulous filming, but something falls short. Perhaps it's the cutesy music or even Morgan Freeman's narration. Surprised me, because I normally enjoy Morgan Freeman. Do get it though, to see the extra material which includes a 1 hr documentary about the filming, with a far more gritty approach.

annemarie from Sligo, 29 Jul 2008
hmm ,a little too sentimental. I found the humanising of the penguins a bit weird frankly. Fantastic footage however and a great insight into the harsh landscape. If you are expecting disny-you wont be dissappointed. My kids loved it !!

4 out of 10 Pick up a penguin
Alan from Dublin, 10 May 2008
Beautifully shot film with excellent narration by Morgan Freeman. When you see what the film makers went through to film the penguins, you realise what remarkable creatures they are to survive in those conditions.

What's it about....
Coming from a French director, Luc Jacquet, the Oscar-winning family documentary March Of The Penguins would have to be a love story. And it is, in that it follows the mating rituals of the emperor penguin, one of the most resilient animals on earth. Each summer, after a nourishing period of deep-sea feeding, the penguins pop up onto the ice and begin their procession across the frozen tundra of Antarctica. Walking in single file, they are a sight to behold. Hundreds converge...
