4 out of 10 US kills democracy as a rule.
Ciaran from Dublin, 05 Feb 2008
The US has always treated Central and South America as its own back-yard, albeit populated by an underclass who feed their capitalist ways. But 'Democracy', so much the hyped US ideology, is never allowed to develop anywhere it may dent the USA's ability to make money and hold power, so it is washed away repeatedly in these countries and replaced with US-compliant dictators. This movie shows this process in action and it is quite startling. Essential viewing, especially in todays world.

4.5 out of 10 The War on Democracy
Sighle from Dublin, 02 Jun 2008
Pilger is seen as extreme left wing which equates with an honourable man. The movie was a frightening parade of what can happen wnen you have something Big Brother wants. The interview with the arrogant jeering CIA (?) official was chilling in its arrogance and reminded me of brushes with South African police in the 70's. Let's hope this kind of person meets the same fate. 250 million Americans must have the usual number of right thinking people. Let's hope they wake up!

4.5 out of 10 Superb
Klair from Dublin, 20 Feb 2008
John Pilger has long been a hero of mine and this Documentary again proves why everyone should not just sit back and listen to what CNN, Fox & Sky say is the truth. What latin America has suffered as a result of US Foreign Policy & interference is a disgrace. The CIA man pretty much summed up the American attitude with his "if we think it affects our national interests, we will interfere, tough!" Chavez is a hero not a villan!!!

4 out of 10 worth a look
dave from Laois, 21 Feb 2008
Sometimes compromised by well meaning but ultimately hand wringing leftie liberal presentation. This nonetheless is well researched and delivered, and confronts us with the realities if american foreign policy since ww2 that must be quite shocking to anyone who still thinks of the us as the home of freedom and democracy!

4 out of 10 We're going to reap what we sow.
Michael from Clare, 12 Feb 2008
This documentary should be compulsory viewing for the ignorance of the Majority of the Western World to the destruction and oppression of democracy over decades by the USA against Latin America. Ignorance is bliss, educate yourself and shed a tear for the genocide and torture of the hundreds of thousands.
